Fiberglass Boat Repair:
Hull Repair - Cutting Out the Side of the Boat

Cutting out the side of a fiberglass boat bow & making new

Fiberglass Boat Repair:

A recent project: At Henderson Mariners Marina in Henderson Harbor New York, we were fixing some major damage to the hull of an ex-police boat.

The Starboard side of the hull was damaged in a previous mishap, and was poorly repaired. Stress cracks and delamination run throughout the repair area. Our plan is to remove the damaged area completely and build it new.

Here, Gary makes the first cut with a Skill Saw...

After the section has been cut out and removed...
Close up of the inside, looking from the outside...
Gary - goofing off as usual, stops to ponder where the heck he is!

Finished...   All new fiberglass installed, some minor shaping work on the outside, gelcoated and bottom painted...

This boat is ready to hit the waves once again - and whatever else it's captain decides to tangle with!
